| Namibia Car Hire |
| Self-drive car-rental is by far the most popular way of exploring Namibia and Southern Africa. Namibian main roads are generally good and well sign-posted, with major tourist attractions often highlighted. Be prepared to drive on the left-hand side of the road, at speeds of 60 km per hour in towns and cities and 100 km to 120 km per hour on national highways. Budget for petrol costs of R3.00 per litre, with some petrol stations staying open 24 hours a day. Driving in Namibia involves long stretches of flat roads, and it is important to keep to the main roads and take driving breaks often. |
